Granny D's
About This Spot
Granny D's invites you into a warm, unhurried morning ritual tucked away along FM306 in Canyon Lake, where the hum of friendly conversations blends with the scent of freshly brewed coffee and home-style cooking. This is the kind of spot where time seems to soften — where breakfasts unfold at a leisurely pace and the buzz of the kitchen promises hearty, familiar flavors made to savor.
The atmosphere feels like visiting a neighbor’s kitchen, filled with simple comforts and generous portions that remind you of Sunday mornings at grandma’s house. There’s a soft rhythm to the service here, a gentle reminder that good things take time—sure enough, plates arrive laden with overflowing pancakes, fluffy eggs, and tempting cinnamon rolls that coax a slower, more deliberate enjoyment of the meal.
While breakfast is the heartbeat of Granny D's, its menu carries a warm embrace throughout the day, from classic American staples to Texas-sized favorites. Whether it’s the satisfying richness of biscuits and gravy or the playful indulgence of cinnamon roll pancakes, each dish is a piece of unpretentious comfort, served with a knowing smile.
Locals and travelers alike find themselves lingering long enough to share stories over big plates and eager conversations. It’s a place where the familiar and the flavorful meet, where the sense of community extends beyond the table, and where a morning meal becomes a moment to slow down, share warmth, and feel a little more at home amidst the Texas Hill Country scenery.

Visited here on a Saturday morning at 8:30, didn’t leave until 9:50. Wait time for food after ordering is a good 30/45ish minutes but it goes by pretty quick! For sure the BEST pancakes I’ve ever had!! Biscuits& Gravy: The food was amazing! Ordered biscuits and gravy topped with ham ( we did ask for over hard eggs and got over easy) other than that it was amazing! Pancakes: We also ordered a pancake to share and I thought I could finish half but it’s deceiving because the pancake is 1-1.5 inches thick! I could only eat 1/4 of it, definitely a pancake to share with 4 people! Great for leftovers though Coffee: 2/10 drinkable but not great, tastes like watery coffee Service: 3/5, our waitress had a small attitude but I get it was a Saturday morning so she was swamped but she seemed to talk like that too her co-workers as well so maybe it’s just how she is.. I love how this restaurant is very homey, the tables, the mugs for coffee, plates, having the dessert in a fridge along with the drinks, etc gives home local vibes which I love Also the pancakes are so cheap for what you get!! $6 for a HUGE pancake compared to other restaurants where it’s $5 for a small add on pancake

If you happen to be in town for vacation or passing by, I'd highly recommend for the simple fact the food is in abundance for the price you pay and can easily become 3 meals if you have your own eggs to add to it or just order extras. The service was friendly but should inform you the food will take a good minute, considering the portions you're getting are massive. The mens room is small and could easily become over occupied so be prepared if you have to go. The food was properly cooked and was to our expectations. The lighting was plentiful and showcased the food. Interior decorations need updating and counter checkout should upsale the desserts in the display case but wasn't offered. The pancakes do not come with real butter but we didn't ask if they had it as an option.

Huge portions and our waitress was fun, smiling and attentive. I would love to go back and try their lunch. The couple next to us ordered a chicken fried steak, it looked delicious. The cashier needs an attitude adjustment, didn't look happy to be there. And be sure to check out the pies and cakes

A nice mom & pop breakfast/brunch restaurant located right on 306 in Canyon Lake. Great service from our waitress. The food came out on time fairly quick. Everything was good however the banana nut waffle really didn't have a banana taste to it. The patty melt was delicious. My husband had the pancake and it tasted plain to me. But it was huge and hot coming out. The veggie omelette, home fries, & hash browns were good.

Love, love, loved this place. Our new found favorite spot. Service was amazing. Food was so good. We took home a lemon meringue pie. (To die for) and I tried their Texas sheet cake, if you love brownies with fudge and pecans it’s the one do you. My husband had a omelette which was so good and I had their biscuits and gravy yummmm and their cinnamon sweet roll pancake. Oh my gosh! Prices just perfect.

We come here every single time we are in town. Best breakfast hands down! Prices are on point, as well! So many great choices. Some of our favorites: omelette, pancakes, French toast, and the chicken fried steak sandwich & chicken sandwich with bacon. The desserts are out of this world! Chocolate pie and chocolate cake…amazing!!
